Social engagement

Improving the quality of life of people in our society and in the world has been a concern for ROTHENBERGER for many years.

Through our committed actions on the ground and in the world, we want to help provide better opportunities for people who are impaired by their origins, the conditions of their country or their physical and mental characteristics.

TOOLS FOR LIFE

In many parts of the world, clean drinking water, reliable energy supply and education are still not a matter of course. In order to give as many people as possible access to these vital resources, Dr Helmut Rothenberger established the TOOLS FOR LIFE Foundation in 2008. Together with its partner organisations, the non-profit foundation has since been able to implement and support a large number of humanitarian projects in many countries around the world: from the construction of sanitary facilities to sustainable energy projects to training programmes for children and adults. In 2021, the protection of the climate was added as a further purpose of the foundation. Since then, the sustainability of the aid projects has been a central aspect of the funding provided by TOOLS FOR LIFE.

Integration no Separation

Integration is a central concern in the ROTHENBERGER Group. To this end, the project "Integration no Separation" was launched in 2021 together with the TOOLS FOR LIFE foundation. Its aim is to actively promote the integration and appreciation of people with impairments in the workplace. ROTHENBERGER managers and employees want to set an example for the integration of all people, regardless of gender, origin or physical impairments or special features. One of the planned actions is an international "Help Day" on 25 May 2022, on which ROTHENBERGER employees will get involved in selected social projects.

Cooperation with the Schlocker Foundation

At some ROTHENBERGER Group locations, integration in the workplace has already been implemented for many years. At the main ROTHENBERGER Werkzeuge site in Kelkheim, for example, the Human Resources department works closely with the Office for Disability Assistance and has been able to accompany the integration of several people with physical and mental disabilities. In 2020, another integrative project was started together with the Schlocker Foundation in Hattersheim. For this purpose, specially equipped workplaces were created in our warehouse in Kelkheim Münster for four new employees with impairments, who have since become an integral part of the team. In the next step, jobs for people with disabilities will also be created in the production area. We are working on further expanding projects like this in all ROTHENBERGER branches.
